Well. Yesterday and all that it had entailed -- specifically, making out with a bleached-blond musician who thought he was smooth -- had been a little bizarre. Or at least it was now, in the light of day and all that.
Fortunately, April at least planned on being way more mature and less weird today. Namely, by watching a horror movie marathon with a teenager. That was legit, right?
There was pizza and beer, and the TV was currently playing the DVD menu for a movie that was said to have blown over forty percent of its budget on fake blood and zombie makeup. Perfect.
[[for the one, but if neighbors have any reason to stop by (/complain about the noise...), that's cool.]]

He gave a knock on the door.

Date: 2012-08-12 01:17 pm (UTC)"It's open," April called.
What, like she was going to get up to go answer it? That would involve giving up the best couch, which she'd so wisely claimed by sprawling on it. And that would be terrible.

Date: 2012-08-12 01:19 pm (UTC)Eventually he'd figure out Baltimore's one-night-stand scene. Just you wait.
Atton eyed the door for a few seconds, then shrugged and opened it. "As hospitable as ever," he said conversationally, shutting the door. "Hey, April."

Date: 2012-08-12 01:24 pm (UTC)"Yo," April said, tossing a beer his way when he got close enough that she figured he might be able to catch it. And if he didn't, well, that would still be entertaining. "Welcome to my crappy apartment. As far as I know the mess isn't sentient yet."
But it was impressive. April didn't so much believe in concepts like 'cleaning up.'

Date: 2012-08-12 01:27 pm (UTC)He caught the beer in both hands - he had
Force-drivengood reflexes, thanks. "Yeah?" he said. "Be careful. This place looks like it's just waiting for a family of mynocks to move in."no subject
Date: 2012-08-12 01:31 pm (UTC)As far as she knew her apartment was mynock-free. She just enjoyed screwing with him.
Yes, Atton, 'with.' Sorry.

Date: 2012-08-12 01:40 pm (UTC)Probably.
Fortunately for Atton, he got a couch all to himself! Because April's parents had been very clear about insisting that she splurge on furniture, and while she hadn't actually forseen inviting teenagers over to hang out at the time, now she was feeling pretty pleased with that decision.
She waited until he got to the couch, then nodded toward the pizza on the table in front of the couch and said "Plates are over there."
Pointing alllll the way across the apartment to the kitchen. Wasn't she helpful?

Date: 2012-08-12 01:43 pm (UTC)"Aren't you supposed to eat that with your hands?" he posited.

Date: 2012-08-12 01:51 pm (UTC)He reached for the pizza. Messy. Eh. He'd slept in an alley last night.

Date: 2012-08-12 01:54 pm (UTC)"Don't know." Yes you did, April, it said the title on the screen. Feigned apathy could only go so far. "There's zombies and cannibals and shit in it. Supposed to be one of the worst movies ever made."
Sounded fun, right?
no subject
Date: 2012-08-12 01:57 pm (UTC)Then took a big bite of his pizza. "Because that's a bold claim."

Date: 2012-08-12 03:41 pm (UTC)"We didn't really talk for that long," April said. "But probably the second one."
She had a good idea of who that other guy was, though, and privately wondered whether if she got a cloak like that, she could be just as terrifying.
